David Moragas (Almoster, 1993) is a writer, screenwriter, and film director. He graduated in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University and completed a Master’s degree in Film Directing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in New York, supported by a scholarship from the “la Caixa” Foundation. His work focuses on the exploration of affective relationships and dynamics of desire, through an intimate and observational lens.

He has directed several short films, including Demà ho deixem (Tomorrow Then) (2022), which won the VOC Award from Òmnium Cultural, the Audience Award at the D’A Film Festival Barcelona, and was nominated for the Gaudí Awards. The short film also had an extensive international festival run, including Palm Springs, Raindance, and BFI Flare in London.

His debut feature film, A Stormy Night (2020), received a nomination for Best Editing at the Gaudí Awards and was selected as the closing film of the D’A Film Festival Barcelona in 2020. With a broad festival circuit including the Málaga Film Festival, Som Cinema, and Outshine Miami, the film won the Best Screenplay award at Queercinemad in 2020.

His second feature film, Un Altre Home (2026), premiered at the Málaga Film Festival and opened the D’A Film Festival Barcelona. It has screened internationally at festivals including Thessaloniki, BFI Flare in London, and Pink Apple in Zurich, and won both the Jury Prize and the Young Jury Prize at the Lovers Film Festival in Turin.

He is also the author of the novel Fervor (2024), published in Catalan by Penguin Random House and translated into Spanish by Urano. Fervor was selected as one of the works representing Barcelona at the Guadalajara Book Fair in 2025.

He is currently developing his next feature film, Això que fem (Things we do), selected for the screenplay residency of the Acadèmia del Cinema Català. He has worked as a script assistant on several fiction projects, including the series Esa Noche (Netflix, 2026), and combines directing and screenwriting with teaching at Pompeu Fabra University.
